– Mom, I’m the one, who is in charge of the weather. The one, who is in charge of the temperature, of the atmosphere…
– What do you mean by that? She asked me.
– Mom, whenever there’s the right temperature, the right weather, people can be more creative.

Today, everyone understands that touching people and building true relationships, are at the heart of every message and every medium. Direct was, is and always will be the true essence of marketing. The art of relationship building, direct to the heart, delivered by every technology, is the challenge of our community.
Direct and emotional engagement isn’t only a game changer, but a life changer. Its true greatness however, lies in the fact it’s no longer confined and owned by marketers alone. That knowledge has crossed over to the people. People, not “consumers”.
My first “date” with the Cannes Advertising Festival was 15 years ago. Since then, our relationship has grown stronger and deeper. It has become part of my life, which is why it’s such a great honor for me to be the 2012 Cannes Direct Lions Jury president.
Relationships are built over time, there are no shortcuts and they are worth investing in. So look around and build one. Because relationships have the power to change the world.
At Cannes that is what counts. Building relationships and evolving them. Together with the Cannes Direct Jury, which I am looking forward to meeting, we will go hunting for every proven innovation in that art.
Aniboom Partners with Communication Artist Gideon Amichay to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of 9/11
The special project showcases (http://www.youtube.com/aniboom911) the work of animation artists from around the world and more artists are invited to participate
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – September 8, 2011 – Aniboom Virtual Studio (aniboom.com), the world’s first virtual animation studio, has partnered with leading Communication Artist Gideon Amichay to honor the upcoming 10th anniversary of 9/11 by bringing together animators from all over the world.
Amichay envisioned that each participant would create a ten-second animation inspired by the title: 9/11. It’s been ten years.
The vision, mood, and message of every ten-second animation vary greatly among the individual artists. This collection of 9/11 animation shorts is currently being screened in its entirety on the Web on Aniboom’s 9/11 YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/aniboom911) with future plans to debut in different forms on television and in real-world venues. All animation clips are signed with the artist’s name followed by the flag of his/her home country.
Uri Shinar, Aniboom’s CEO, made the following statement, “Although it’s been 10 years, I believe that this impressive body of work, created by independent artists from all over the world, shows that this tragic event is still very much alive in our collective minds and hearts. And for me, that’s exactly what this project is all about.”
Gideon Amichay, the creator of the project, said, “We invited animation artists from 30 countries to take part in commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11. I believe that the grief is cosmopolitan. I felt that I must create something and share it with artists and people from all over the world. I collaborated with Aniboom, the virtual animation studio, which shares my vision.”
This is a not-for-profit effort. Any proceeds generated by screenings on television or other media will be donated to the Twin Towers Orphan Fund and the Tuesday’s Children Organization.
More animation artists (all genres: 3D, 2D classic, stop motion, and motion graphics) from all over the world are invited to join the project in the service of our shared humanity: http://www.aniboom.com/september11

9/11. It’s been ten years. To commemorate this date I asked to bring together animators from all over the world to honor the upcoming 10th anniversary of 9/11. The project is in collaboration with ANIBOOM, the virtual animation studio.
The idea is to create ten seconds of animation around the title: 9/11. It’s been ten years.
The collection will be screened in its entirety on the Web, and in different forms on television, and in real-world venues. The vision, mood, and message of each ten-second animation will be completely up to you, the animator. (All we request is that the audio and visual content be rights-cleared.)
This is a not-for-profit effort. Any proceeds generated by screenings on television or other media will be donated to the Twin Towers Orphan Fund and the Tuesday’s Children organization.
